Description

This reclining bear, sculpted by the great animal artist
Antoine-Louis Barye in the 1830s, is one of his most famous pieces.
Barye excelled in battle scenes, but he also knew how to depict more playful and tender poses, like the one of this bear, who seems to be playing with his paw like a child.

The pieces are numbered from 1 to 500/500 and bear the ‘Benneton Graveur Éditions’ stamp
Benneton Graveur, Paris, art publisher and engraver since 1880.
