Correspondance cards

The elegance of a handwritten message.

Taking the time to write a few words by hand is a rare gesture of consideration.

From the choice of paper to bespoke finishes, every detail matters in ensuring that this piece of correspondence accompanies your words with quiet distinction.

Bespoke stationery

A correspondence card favours a restrained format and a balanced composition.

Space is essential: it gives structure to the writing and contributes to its harmony.

A motif, monogram, name, or coloured border may be incorporated with discretion and precision, like a signature.

At the crossroads of exceptional French artisanal heritage and contemporary communication, we design and produce entirely bespoke fine stationery.

Frequently asked questions

What is the classic format of a correspondence card?

The correspondence card formats offered by Our Maison are rooted in the tradition of fine engraved stationery, inherited from the customs of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. At the time, formats were determined by the size of available envelopes and by established social conventions. The smaller format, 128 × 80 mm, corresponded to the “billet”: a brief and elegant form intended for a short note. The larger format, 155 × 110 mm, was more commonly used for longer messages, such as notes of thanks. At Benneton Graveur, classic formats are available, but each project can be adapted to suit your preferences and intended use. You may specify a particular format in our dedicated quote request form for correspondence cards, so that its feasibility can be assessed.

How should I choose the paper for my correspondence cards?

Benneton Graveur correspondence cards are made using exceptional papers, selected for their quality, presence, and writing comfort. Vellum paper offers a smooth, even surface, while laid paper reveals a subtle texture imbued with tradition. Paper weights vary to suit every use.

What types of printing and engraving do you offer?

Several techniques can be used to enhance your correspondence card. The engraving, carried out using a block created especially for you, ensures incomparable delicacy and depth. Raised printing offers a subtle sheen and delicate tactile relief, while flat printing brings out the precision of the line. Bespoke motifs, or motifs chosen from our emblematic collection, are hand-stamped.

How can I personalise my correspondence cards?

At Benneton Graveur, each creation is unique and reflects the personality of its owner. Beyond the choice of paper and typography, a monogram, motif, coat of arms, or personal symbol can be incorporated into your correspondence card. Other finishes are also available on request, including our emblematic hand-gouached borders.

What does a bespoke bookmark project involve?

The creation of a bespoke correspondence card includes several stages: an initial conversation about your project and wishes; the preparation and approval of a quote; the development of graphic proposals and approval of a proof; the production of your set of cards; and a final stage of manual quality control, carried out card by card by our team.Your order is then carefully packaged and made available for collection at our Paris boutique. Should you prefer postal delivery, options and conditions vary according to the destination. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times and associated costs depend on the destination.

How long does it take?

Production times vary according to the specifications of each piece. As a guide, please allow between one and six weeks from approval of the project to dispatch. An estimated timeframe will be provided at the beginning of the project.
